Is your business ready to upgrade to Microsoft Windows 11?

While Microsoft claimed Windows 10 was going to be the last version of Windows, us in the I.T. community knew that wasn’t feasible. With new technology, comes new operating systems, or vice versa. Why the big push for Windows 11 though, and why should my (home or) business upgrade? The answer is simple…

Security.

Security is the reason for upgrading to Windows 11, not just to continue to have the latest Windows updates (as Windows 10 will cease to be supported in ~1 year from now), it’s the added security newer systems have built in (such as TPM 2.0). More and more, we hear on the news how this company or that company was hacked, your privacy may be at risk, or you think your small business can’t be affected because this only concerns the large corporations. That’s no longer the case now a days. As a Small Business, a priority should always be security focused. You don’t close up for the night and leave your front door wide open do you? Not updating your systems to the latest version of Windows is like doing just that.

But Canton Computers, do I need to buy a new computer? Maybe, maybe not. It all depends if your system can handle Windows 11. Microsoft can test your products to see if it’ll handle Windows 11. You may be able to upgrade the software on your computer and stick with the same hardware. You can bring it in to CCI for us to evaluate if you’d like. We will direct you in the right direction (updating Windows 10 to Windows 11, upgrading your system components & upgrading to Windows 11, or purchasing a new or refurbished system with Windows 11 already on it).

Regardless, you have ~1 year to ensure your systems are up to date with Windows 11. You should really start upgrading sooner than later as most computer companies will get flooded with businesses and residential requests for updating and our turn around time’s may be delayed.
